Following the Chancellor Rishi Sunak’s announcement this week of a VAT reduction to 5% for businesses in the hospitality and tourism industries, it has transpired that vending firms are not included at this stage.
The Automatic Vending Association’s membership services manager Steve Collins said after contacting HMRC about the VAT reduction to 5%, they advised the following:
“The full list of who it effects is not complete yet but at the moment vending is not on the current list. Full guidance on the reduction will be on the HMRC website later today or tomorrow morning – listed as a Revenue & Customs Brief.”
