Martin has been with the company since 1999 and has plenty of experience working within sales, product management and customer service. His most recent role was commercial director.

He said: “Over the years I’ve held a number of roles throughout the business, primarily sales orientated. Most recently as a commercial director my role was heavily biased towards products (existing and new), inventory control, supplier relations and marketing. I’m looking forward to getting involved in all areas of the business, learning new products, markets and industries and working closely with the senior management team to put initiatives and strategies in place that positions the business strongly in the market.”

He added: “I wouldn’t necessarily say it was an easy decision. However, having spent 20 years at Hawco, I felt like it was the right time in my career to take on new challenges and make the next step into this role. I’m so pleased that I have the opportunity to be able to do this within the Hawco Group.”

Joining Abbeychart (part of the Hawco Group) there’s a lot Martin would like to achieve. He said: ” I hope to be able to bring my experience and guidance that helps strengthen the Abbeychart offering, particularly from the assembly and refurbishment side of things. This is an area that Abbeychart have historically been incredibly successful in. I believe there’s a number of avenues where we can expand on this further.”

David Goode, CEO Control Sector from Diploma PLC, made the announcement to all Hawco employees. It was also announced that Mark Taylor (former managing  director at Hawco) would be managing director of a new group being created within the controls sector of Diploma PLC.

“Mark joined Diploma in 2005 and has been the managing director of Hawco since 2013. I would like to thank Mark for the tremendous effort he has made during his time  at Hawco, and he leaves behind a successful and profitable business.

From everyone at Abbeychart,  we wish both Martin Butler and Mark Taylor, the very best of luck in their new roles.”
